Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) Operator cum Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating RTG cranes safely and efficiently, while also providing hands-on training and theoretical instruction to trainees. The role requires a thorough understanding of port and harbour operations, logistics, and equipment handling, with a focus on safety and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
1. RTG Crane Operations:
o Safely operate Rubber Tyred Gantry cranes for the loading, unloading, and stacking of containers.
o Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes to ensure safety and performance standards.
o Coordinate with ground crew and port authorities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
o Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and operational procedures at all times.
2. Training Delivery:
o Provide classroom and practical training sessions on the operation of RTG cranes, focusing on both theory and hands-on experience.
o Develop and implement training materials, including presentations, manuals, and handouts.
o Assess trainees' performance and provide feedback for improvement.
o Ensure trainees understand the safety protocols, operational guidelines, and maintenance procedures associated with RTG cranes.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on RTG cranes to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
o Report any malfunctions or mechanical issues to the maintenance team promptly.
4. Compliance and Safety:
o Promote a safety-first culture by reinforcing the importance of proper crane operation and adherence to safety standards.
o Stay updated on industry regulations and safety practices.
o Ensure compliance with local port and harbor authority regulations.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including attendance, assessments, and trainee progress.
o Prepare and submit operation reports and maintenance logs to supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience operating Rubber Tyred Gantry cranes in port or logistics environments.
• Training Experience: Previous experience as a trainer or in a similar role in skill development, with a proven ability to teach and mentor trainees.
• Certification: Valid RTG Crane Operator license and relevant industry certifications.
