Description

1. Machine Setup and Operation

  • Prepare and set up CNC/VMC machines according to the required job specifications, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Load raw materials into the machine, ensuring proper alignment and calibration for accuracy in machining.

2. Program Understanding and Modifications

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models to understand dimensions and tolerances.
  • Adjust and modify machine settings or programs as needed to meet specific requirements for pump components.

3. Tooling and Maintenance

  • Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining different pump parts.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machines to ensure peak performance and prolong equipment life.

4. Quality Control and Inspection

  • Conduct quality checks during and after machining, using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify that components meet the specifications.
  • Document measurements, detect deviations, and make necessary adjustments to minimize defects in the final product.

5. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during machining, such as tool wear, misalignment, or programming errors.
  • Collaborate with engineers or programmers to resolve complex issues and ensure smooth operations.

6. Adherence to Safety Standards

  • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, ensuring proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor for immediate action.

7. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain logs and records of daily production, machine usage, and maintenance performed.
  • Report production metrics, machine downtime, and quality issues to supervisors.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine productivity, reduce waste, and optimize machining processes.
  • Offer feedback to supervisors or engineers for potential improvements in programming or setup for future jobs.
