Service Engineer - ITI/Diploma (Heavy Equipment/Construction Machinery)
Position Summary: The Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy machinery, construction equipment, or related machinery. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with hands-on experience in servicing mechanical and electrical systems in heavy equipment. The position is ideal for individuals with a technical background in ITI or a diploma in mechanical, electrical, or related fields.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Commissioning:Install and commission heavy equipment at customer sites following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure proper equipment functionality before deployment.
Maintenance & Repairs:Perform regular preventive maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, and calibration, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in machinery and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic tools.Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot faults and errors in machinery systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical components.Analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve equipment failures.
Customer Support & Training:Interact with customers to understand their equipment-related issues and provide guidance on equipment handling, care, and basic maintenance.Conduct training sessions for customers on the safe operation and maintenance of machinery.
Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate service records, including details of maintenance, repairs, and parts used for each job.Prepare and submit service reports after each service or maintenance visit.Health & Safety Compliance:Adhere to all company and industry safety standards during installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.Conduct risk assessments and follow all safety procedures to protect oneself and others while working with heavy machinery.QualificationsITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.2+ years of experience in servicing and maintaining heavy equipment or construction machinery (preferred).Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software.Skills RequiredStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently or in a team.Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.CompensationCompetitive salary based on experience and skills.Health and other benefits as per company policy.
