Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sales & Marketing Manager with a strong technical background in Life Sciences and proven leadership skills. This individual will lead and manage a team of Technical Sales Specialists, focusing on Consumables and Bench Top Instruments. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding the customer base, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets through strategic planning, team development, and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Sales Specialists to meet company sales objectives.
  • Create and implement a strategic sales plan to grow the customer base, increase revenue, and capture new market opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to deal closing, while ensuring team efficiency and adherence to sales protocols.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching and development plans, and ensure team accountability to meet sales goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to drive business development. Create accurate sales forecasts based on this analysis.
  • Manage existing business accounts and develop new accounts, with a focus on cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Monitor account receivables and ensure on-time payment collections, reducing outstanding balances.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Life Sciences products, including competitive analysis, to effectively position and sell offerings.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Customer Service, Product, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field. An MBA/MTech in Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in sales within the Life Sciences industry, including team management experience.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Life Sciences products and technologies (e.g., PCR, qPCR, Electrophoresis, Western Blotting, etc.).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to perform trend analysis, prepare sales forecasts, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively, as required.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, learn new product knowledge, and stay updated on market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
