Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) based on customer specifications and requirements.
  • Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and prototypes using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
  • Perform design calculations and stress analysis to ensure the functionality and durability of mechanical components.
  • Collaborate with electrical, automation, and software teams to integrate mechanical systems with control systems for complete SPM solutions.
  • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and performance.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control, and industry regulations.
  • Troubleshoot design issues during prototyping, testing, and installation phases.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including technical specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for sourcing components, materials, and other necessary resources.
  • Manage design modifications based on client feedback, field issues, or evolving project needs.
  • Participate in commissioning and testing phases of machines at customer sites to verify performance.
  • Support the project team in meeting deadlines and ensuring the successful execution of SPM projects.

Additional Skills


Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience with automation systems, robotics, or PLC-controlled machines. Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) software for structural and thermal analysis. Previous experience in designing and developing customized industrial machines for manufacturing.
