Job Title: Welder
Qualifications:
Educational Requirement: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Welder trade.
Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in welding processes, working in industries like manufacturing, construction, or maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding and Fabrication:
Perform welding operations such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding on various materials (e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
Cut, shape, and weld metal parts as per the design and customer requirements.
Equipment Maintenance:
Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards.
Clean and perform basic maintenance on welding machines, tools, and workstations.
Inspection and Quality Control:
Inspect welds for defects, strength, and quality, ensuring they meet industry standards.
Ensure that welding procedures and safety standards are strictly followed.
Conduct visual and mechanical inspection of welded joints.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and using the necessary protective gear (gloves, helmets, etc.).
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent accidents and ensure operational efficiency.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work closely with other team members, including fabricators and engineers, to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Collaborate with supervisors and managers to plan and execute welding tasks.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
Identify issues related to welding equipment or materials and suggest corrective actions.
Solve problems related to weld quality or equipment malfunction in a timely manner.
Documentation and Reporting:
Record welding activities and the types of materials used for quality assurance and traceability purposes.
Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor or manager.
Skills Required:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in various welding techniques and processes (MIG, TIG, Arc, Stick).
Basic understanding of welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Knowledge of materials and welding consumables.
Attention to Detail: Ability to identify defects in welded joints and ensure high-quality standards.
Physical Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
