Overview: We are seeking for a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Cutting Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating laser cutting equipment, strong technical skills and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards. The Laser Cutting Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Set up and calibrate laser cutting machines according to job specifications and material requirements.
2. Load and unload materials onto the laser cutting machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
3. Program and adjust machine settings such as speed, power and focal length to achieve optimal cutting results.
4. Monitor the cutting process and inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
5. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal machine performance.
6. Maintain a clean and organized work area including disposing of scrap material and debris.
7. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
8. Collaborate with supervisors and engineering staff to resolve production issues and improve processes.
9. Record production data and maintain accurate records of materials used, production output and machine maintenance.
10. Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and best practices in laser cutting operations.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in laser cutting operations preferred.
2. Proven experience operating laser cutting machines, with at least 2 – 3 years of relevant experience.
3. Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
4. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for programming and nesting parts preferred.
5. Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks on laser cutting equipment.
6. Excellent attention to detail and precision with the ability to produce high-quality parts consistently.
7. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
8. Flexibility to work in different shifts and overtime as required to meet production demands.
9. Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification in laser cutting machine operation or related field.
2. Experience working with metals.
3. Knowledge of laser safety standards and regulations.
4. Experience of laser safety standards and regulations.
5. Experience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining operations.
